Barrett’s Esophagus

This educational guide offers patient information on Barrett's esophagus, a syndrome that features an abnormal change in the cells of the esophagus typically caused by damage from chronic acid exposure, or reflux esophagitis. The normal lining of the esophagus is replaced by an intestinal-type lining. Barrett’s Esophagus is considered to be a premalignant condition that is associated with an increased risk of esophageal cancer.

Acid-Reflux (GERD)

This educational guide offers patient information on Acid Reflux and Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), chronic abnormal reflux of acid into the esophagus, typically due to brief or permanent changes in the barrier between the esophagus and the stomach. Untreated Reflux/GERD can lead to more significant health complications, such as Barrett’s Esophagus.

Bladder Cancer

This educational guide offers patient information on Bladder Cancer. There are several types of malignant growths of the urinary bladder. It is a disease in which abnormal cells multiply without control in the bladder.
