EndoSheath® Cystoscopy represents the new alternative to conventional flexible cystoscopy procedures. For the first time, Urologists can get high performance endoscopic imaging and functionality with the EndoSheath® Technology, the only sterile, disposable option for flexible endoscopy.
What is EndoSheath® Technology?
Vision Sciences® unique cystoscopy line utilizes the pioneering EndoSheath® Technology, providing a durable, protective barrier between the scope and patient. EndoSheath® Technology is a sterile, disposable sheath that covers the cystoscope and completely isolates the cystoscope from patient contact. The sheath incorporates a sterile, disposable channel for irrigation and tool passage, and supports a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. An integrated protective control body cover allows maximum usage of endoscope controls without contaminating the equipment.
How does EndoSheath® Technology work?
Prior to the procedure, the cystoscope is placed inside a new, sterile sheath. Following the procedure, the cystoscope is removed from the sheath, which is then discarded. The sheath eliminates the need for toxic high-level disinfection/sterilization routines between each patient. The result is a safe, sterile instrument for each patient and rapid equipment turnaround for the practice.
What does EndoSheath® Cystoscopy mean for the urologist and the urology staff?
EndoSheath® Cystoscopy provides the urologist the ultimate in practice efficiency and high-performance cystoscopy. Because of the unique EndoSheath® feature of rapid turnaround, urologists do not have to wait for equipment to go through lengthy and elaborate reprocessing procedures, thus EndoSheath® Cystoscopes are always ready when the urologist is ready. With Vision Sciences® line of high performance video and fiberoptic cystoscopes, urologists get the ultimate in clinical efficiency without compromising on the functional or therapeutic procedural needs.
The EndoSheath® Urology practice staff has the opportunity for a new level of efficiency, flexibility, and safety. The EndoSheath® technology means less staff and equipment exposure to toxic disinfection chemicals. The simple preparation routine of the system frees up staff time normally spent on conventional cystoscope reprocessing routines, increasing productivity and the ability to keep room and equipment turnaround from throwing off the day’s schedule. Additionally, an “always ready” cystoscope means that unexpected patient add-ons are easily fit into a busy day’s schedule.
For the practice itself, the EndoSheath® Technology helps keep the capital equipment budget low, by providing one flexible cystoscope that can do the work of many conventional scopes, reducing the need for turnaround inventory. The reduced inventory and the reduced exposure to toxic chemical disinfection routines also allows for lower service and repair expenses.
